October 30, 2015
3:30pm – 6:30pm

Halloween is right around the corner, which means the candy is coming! And while trick-or-treating around the neighborhood is fun, it pales like a ghost in comparison to trick-or-treating through a historical landmark. Virginia’s Mount Vernon Estate is hosting its famed Halloween bash, and you’re all invited!

Back by popular demand, the estate will again open its gates for Halloween fun and spook-tacular activites. Guests will participate in a special scavenger hunt, take a wagon ride through the rolling 12-acre field, and create creepy Halloween crafts. Visit the historic area of the festival for wool carding, spinning, and fishnet making, all before greeting “Martha Washington” on the piazza of the Mansion. In the upper garden, there will be 18th century dancing, historic chocolate-making demonstrations, and chocolate tastings.

One of the most anticipated activities is the children’s costume parade around the mansion beginning at 5pm. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative “George” and “Martha” costumes!

There is something for everyone, so don’t miss out! Tickets are only $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 11 and under. Where will you stay? Don’t worry! Our Alexandria hotel is perfect for you and your “little creatures” this Halloween.
