71st Annual Historic Alexandria Homes Tour & Artisan Show

historic front viewTour the beautiful, historic homes of Old Town Alexandria on September 29th, and support the development of the Twig Patient Care Center, a 24 patient room for post-surgical patients, as well as Inova Alexandria Hospital. Between 10am and 3pm on Saturday, you can take a walking tour of the uniquely built houses and attend the marketplace containing home décor, jewelry, crafts and local artwork. The Marketplace will be located at Norton Hall of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

A “Celebrate Alexandria” raffle will also take place offering the winner a chance to win dinner for two at Restaurant Eve. Restaurant Eve is a quaint 100-seat eatery situated on South Pitt street that offers two unique dining experience in separate rooms: The Chef’s Tasting Room and The Bistro.

Tickets to this Old Town Alexandria Homes tour are $35 in advance and $40 when purchased on the day of the tour. They can be purchased online, at The Twig Shop or at Ramsay House. Proceeds from ticket sales to the 71st Annual Historic Alexandria Homes Tour will benefit Inova Alexandria Hospital and the Twig’s future Patient Care Center.

Mount Vernon Colonial Market & Fair

Families will appreciate the 18th century crafts and colonial-dressed artisans found at the annual Colonial Market & Fair at Mount Vernon. There will be dozens of the country’s best craftspeople selling itms like woodcarvings, tin and ironwork, baskets, furniture, weavings and more. Here are the details:

Location: Mount Vernon: George Washington’s Estate & Gardens

Some of the exciting entertainment to take place at the Colonial Market & Fair include: sword swallowing, magic shows, fire-eating, puppets and live music.
